Our Story

Raíces, which means roots in Spanish, inspired the name of our coffee because we are deeply rooted in both El Salvador and in Canada.

As the saying goes... “the deeper the roots, the greater the fruits.” This is especially true of Raíces Coffee. Our founder Rocio Reyes was born in El Salvador and immigrated to Canada with her parents and siblings at a very young age. After setting down roots in their new home, they never forgot their ancestral home and customs which were always shared with friends and neighbours. Now this sharing has transformed into Raíces Coffee. 

Coffee time is a very important part of the day in Salvadoran households as it allows for family and friends to gather and spend time together enjoying their favourite pastries with a cup of coffee. It is a time for indulgence, relaxation, recharging, and conversation.

A little known fact about El Salvador is its long history of coffee production which has created an excellent variety of coffee that needs to be enjoyed by everyone. At Raíces, we want to bring our customers a satisfying and unique experience in every coffee cup.
